Academics - Junior High

Our Junior High division is a pre-high school division serving students in grades 7 & 8. Seventh grade students are introduced to the rigor of secondary school through exposure to block scheduling, multiple teachers, and a greater expectation of personal responsibility. Seventh grade students are aided in their transition into junior high by administrative orientation, faculty advisory and required study skills classes. Eighth grades students are expected to exhibit the responsibility skills expected of high school underclassmen. While there is still a great deal of supervision and oversight, eighth grade students are allowed a certain measure of independence. If academic qualifications are met, eighth grade students are allowed to take high school credit earning courses in English, Math and Computer skills.

Please review the Junior High Academic Planning Guide for information regarding specific courses and policies which govern Junior High academics.
