Dress Code
Boys & Girls (General PS-3rd)Christians are admonished by scripture to dress modestly to the glorification of God, and avoid showiness in their appearance. (I Corinthians 10:31, I Peter 3:3-4) In accordance with these principles, all students are expected to be neatly attired and modest in appearance, not bringing undue attention to themselves through their appearance. The students' dress and overall appearance should positively reflect on their school as ambassadors of Christian Life Academy.
General Outerwear:
- Sweatshirts/sweaters: They must be school color- white, gray, or navy (may be plain or CLA emblem only)
- Overcoat for cold weather may be color of choice, but cannot be worn in the building.
- Shoes: Athletic shoes with a back in school colors- white, gray, or navy. Strings must complement shoes.
- Socks: Socks must be 2” above top of shoe, no athletic ankle socks allowed.
- Jean Days: Jeans or shorts solid color, no shorts shorter than 3 inches above knees
- Shirts – field trip shirts, CLA T-shirts, knit casual shirts (shoulders must be covered; no T-shirts with advertisements, cartoon characters, heroes, etc.)
- Shoes – closed tennis shoes only
- Caps - not allowed in the building
- Special Dress Day: (for class pictures)
- Church type clothing (dresses cannot be shorter than 3 inches above the knee)
- Length of jumpers, skirts, or shorts 3 inches from floor when kneeling or longer
- Plaid shorts with white cut-off over-shirt or tuck-in white or navy polo with CLAemblem (warm weather)
- Girls grades 3-6 can wear the skorts
- Navy pants with white cut-off over-shirt or tuck-in white or navy polo with CLA emblem
- Preschool (3 year olds): Uniform dress with color coordinated shorts
- 1st– 6th: Jumper with white uniform blouse (NOT knit polo shirt)
- 3rd – 6th: Skorts with white cut-off over-shirt (with CLA emblem)
- Jewelry: Small gold or silver will be allowed but not encouraged. No dangles. Loops can be no larger than the child’s thumbnail size. Absolutely no double piercing earrings
- Hair Ornaments: Ribbons, barrettes, and other hair adornment must be appropriate for school wear and color-coordinated with uniform (white, gray, or navy)
- Navy pants with gray or navy polo shirt with CLA emblem
- Navy shorts (warm weather)
- Belts must be worn with pants and shorts
- All shirts must be tucked in
- Haircuts should be uniform (blended) in length.
- Boys’ hair cannot go beyond mid-ear, over the eyes, or below the collar.
- No tails or braids are allowed.
- Extreme hairstyles or unnatural hair colors are unacceptable.
- Hair should be well groomed.
- Hats and caps are not allowed.
